ENG. On August 24th, I was at La Marketa—a marketplace for female musicians and illustrators created by Elis Paprika and Now Girls Rule, projects conceived to foster the growth, development, and promotion of female artists. This time, La Marketa was part of something much bigger: the HERA HSBC Festival. It was the first festival of this magnitude to feature an all-female lineup, co-created by Ximena Sariñana. Beyond the amazing lineup and La Marketa, the festival hosted various activities, including talks, workshops, brand activations, and more.

I am so happy and proud to have been there, sharing that beautiful space with other female artists. We showcased our diverse work—work that is a fundamental part of who we are: our voices, our way of expressing ourselves and viewing the world, and our way of sharing that vision with others. It is how we reveal ourselves and find an escape, but above all, how we connect—all done with such dedication and love. Furthermore, many of the women who performed have inspired me for years to pursue what I love most; they are a vital part of the soundtrack of my life: Elis Paprika, Ximena Sariñana, Ely Guerra, Denise Gutiérrez and Ladytron.

We enjoyed the voices of some of my favorite artists, and my booth looked beautiful; I brought along both my personal work and pieces from Datura. I am deeply grateful to everyone who stopped by the booth to say hello and to those who picked up some merch. Your words and support mean so much, as they remind me that doing what I love most in life serves a purpose.

ESP. Este 24 de Agosto estuve en La Marketa, un bazar para mujeres músicas e ilustradoras creado por Elis Paprika y Now Girls Rule, ambos proyectos concebidos con el objetivo de impulsar el crecimiento, desarrollo y promoción de mujeres artistas.

Esta vez La Marketa fue parte de algo mucho más grande, el Festival HERA HSBC, el primer festival de esta magnitud en el que todas las protagonistas fueron mujeres y que tiene como co-creadora a Ximena Sariñana. Además del maravilloso lineup y La Marketa, el festival tuvo varias actividades como charlas, talleres, activaciones, etc.

Estoy muy feliz y orgullosa de haber estado en La Marketa compartiendo ese bello espacio con otras mujeres artistas, mostrando nuestro trabajo tan diverso y que es parte fundamental de nosotras, nuestra voz, nuestra manera de expresarnos, de ver el mundo y compartirlo con l@s demás, nuestra manera de mostrarnos y también de escapar, pero sobretodo de conectar y que hacemos con tanta dedicación y amor. Además, muchas de las mujeres que se presentaron me han inspirado durante años a hacer lo que más amo y forman parte importante del soundtrack de mi vida: Elis Paprika, Ximena Sariñana, Ely Guerra, Denise Gutiérrez y Ladytron.

Además, me acompañó una de mis personas favoritas, pudimos disfrutar las voces de algunas de mis artistas favoritas, el stand quedó muy bonito y fui llevé trabajo personal y también de Datura. Estoy muy agradecida con todas las personas que pasaron al stand a saludar y a las que llevaron algo de merch, sus palabras y apoyo son muy importantes porque me recuerdan que mi hacer lo que más amo en esta vida también tiene un propósito.
